  1. Planescape Torment Mods (Original Version… NOT the “Enhanced” Edition) Planescape Torment, in my opinion, is one of the most interesting RPGs of its day. If you're lucky enough to have the original version via GOG from before the Chaotic Evil day of the "Enhanced" Edition, you can install the mods listed below that make it look way better than the ONLY FRIGGIN version easily available online now. Fans of this awesome game made the mods below, but it can be difficult to figure out what modifications to use & in which order they should be installed. Thanks to ThunderPeel2001, who originally posted a article on his blog & GOG for reposting it on 24 DEC 1991, I am able to present an updated & more detailed version of their articles. All of these wonderful things are possible thanks to the hard work of the following Planescape Torment fans: Qwinn, scient, GhostDog, Biggs, Air, Jeff Vader. IMPORTANT NOTES: These mods were installed on an Acer Predator Helios PH315-51 with a 15.6" LCD Monitor & the screen resolution is set to 1920 x 1080. If you have difference settings, some of the below guide will need to be changed up. Installing these mods can & usually will invalidate your existing saved games, so be prepared to start over once they have been installed! If you’re in the middle of a game, & don't want to lose your progress, you should stop now. Don't stress out trying to get the setting right in one go! All the mods below, can be run via the setup files multiple times in order to change your options. If you don't like a setting you picked, run the associated setup file again & pick a different option. STEP 1: Install Bigg's Widescreen Mod What it does: This Mod allows you to play Planescape: Torment at a higher resolution, making the game look a whole lot better, especially on flat screen monitors. How to install: Download the Bigg's Widescreen mod HERE. Right-click on widescreen-v2.60.exe & Select Run as Administrator. Select Accept. Select Browse & navigate to the directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where torment.exe is installed by default via GOG is: C:\GOG Games\Planescape Torment Select Install When the new window opens, type 0 for English. Type N to bypass the “Readme” file. (You can view this if you wish but it isn’t needed if you’re following this guide) Type 1 to install “The Original Infinity Engine (CHOOSE THIS!)” When asked for your X-coordinates enter the number of pixels wide you would like the resolution to be. I used 1920 When asked for your Y-coordinates enter the number of pixels high you would like the resolution to be. I used 1080 Type Y when asked if you want to “Update your Save Games”. Type Y when asked if you want to “Enable Support for Multiple Resolutions”. Type 1920 for the BIGGEST X coordinate. Type 1080 for the BIGGEST Y coordinate. Type Y to confirm the selection. Press ENTER to close the window. LAUNCH the game to verify it has installed correctly then continue to STEP 2. (The game will launch but only display the image in the top left corner… STEP 2 is required to fix this.) Note: You MUST follow the next step in order to fix the graphics at this new higher resolution! STEP 2: Install Ghostdog's Incredible UI Mod What it does: Unfortunately, increasing the resolution of the game will knock many special graphical effects out of place, put videos in the top left corner of your screen, make the menu screens look really ugly, & possibly even make the text really hard to read. Luckily this mod fixes ALL the above problems... It's really quite amazing! This mod is a little trickier to install, but it's worth it, & all of the mods in the later steps are installed in the same way... How to install: Download Ghostdog's mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, Ghostdogs_PST_UI_mod_v2.2, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where torment.exe is installed by default via GOG is: C:\GOG Games\Planescape Torment Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file Setup-GhostDog's-PST-UI.exe from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. Type N to bypass the “Readme” file. (You can view this if you wish but it isn’t needed if you’re following this guide) Type I to install the "Planescape Torment User Interface” In the window that opens you will then get five options: (Ghostdog has provided a screenshot to help you decide.) Install the mod with 20% bigger fonts Install the mod with 40% bigger fonts Install the mod with 80% bigger fonts Install the mod with 120% bigger fonts Type the NUMBER associated with the font size you want. (I used 3 "80% English") Press ENTER to close the window. LAUNCH the game to verify it has installed correctly then continue to STEP 3. (If it doesn't load or display properly, redo the steps above before continuing to STEP 3) STEP 3: Install Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack What it does: Fixes hundreds of bugs left in the game. You will want this installed before playing the game. How to install: Download the Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, pstfixpack_v413, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where torment.exe is installed by default via GOG is: C:\GOG Games\Planescape Torment Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file Setup-PST-Fix.exe from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. When the new window opens, type 0 for English. Type N to bypass the “Readme” file. (You can view this if you wish but it isn’t needed if you’re following this guide) Type I to install the "PS:T Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack by Qwinn” The Ultimate WeiDU Fixpack fixes a ton of bug for the game. Type I to install the "Dialogue Spelling/Grammar Corrections (English Only)” Dialogue Spelling/Grammar Corrections corrects mistakes in the game's text. Type I to install the "Subtitled Cutscenes” Subtitled Cutscenes, is self-explanatory. Press ENTER to close the window. Continue to STEP 4. STEP 4: Install Qwinn's Unfinished Business Mod What it does: The Unfinished Business patch adds many missions back into the game that the designer's didn't have time to finish. These are missions that should be in the game, but time & money constraints meant they were left out, despite being close to completion. How to install: Download Qwinn's Unfinished Business mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, pstub_v412, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where torment.exe is installed by default via GOG is: C:\GOG Games\Planescape Torment Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file Setup-PST-UB.exe from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. When the new window opens, type 0 for English. Type N to bypass the “Readme” file. (You can view this if you wish but it isn’t needed if you’re following this guide) Type I to install the "All Recommended PS:T Unfinished Business Components” Type I to install the "Expanded Deionarra's Truth Mod” Type N to NOT install the "Restored Cheat Items” (If you want the CHEAT ITEMS, its better to use the ones found in STEP 5) Press ENTER to close the window. Continue to STEP 4. STEP 5: Install Qwinn's Tweaks Pack Mod What it does: This patch tweaks & re-balances elements of the game. These are things that make the game more enjoyable to play & have been requested by players since it was released. How to install: Download Qwinn's PS:T Tweak Pack mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, psttweak_v412, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where torment.exe is installed by default via GOG is: C:\GOG Games\Planescape Torment Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file Setup-PST-Tweak.exe from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. When the new window opens, type 0 for English. Type N to bypass the “Readme” file. (You can view this if you wish but it isn’t needed if you’re following this guide) The options below are what I recommend but you can do whatever you want: Type 2 to install the "Interparty Banter Every 6 Game Hours (30 Minues)” Type I to install the "Dustman Robes Area Restriction Removal” Type I to install the "BG2-Style THAC0 Display” (This makes your stats slightly easier to understand) Type I to install the "Stackable Rings, Charms, Bracelets, Scrolls” Type I to install the "Explore City Areas” Type N to NOT install the "Scale of Souls” Type I to install the "Save Nordom! Tweak” Type N to NOT install the "Disabled Stat Minimums” Type I to install the "Maximized HP Per Level for TNO & Party” Type I to install the "Maximized Friends Spell” Type N to NOT install the "No Battle Music” Type N to NOT install the "Use Floating Text Font Globally” Type I to install the "Identify All Items” Type N to NOT install the "Early Glabrezus Tweak” Type N to NOT install the "Power Action Leprechaun Annah, by Black Isle” Type N to NOT install the "Easter Egg Morte, by Black Isle” Type N to NOT install the "Quick Load” Type N to install the " Rest Anywhere” Type N to install the "Tome Of Cheats” Press ENTER to close the window. LAUNCH Planescape Torment & ENJOY!!! Note: You can change your mind & add/remove any of these items later by running 'Setup-PST-Tweak.exe' again. (If you see anything incorrect or that you want added, feel free to comment below & the posting will be edited to reflect the corrections.)
  2. Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition Mods Planescape Torment, in my opinion, is one of the most interesting RPGs of its day. If you're lucky enough to have the original version via GOG you can check out my guide HERE for modifying it. Fans of this awesome game made or updated the mods below for the Enhanced Edition, but it can be difficult to figure out what modifications can be used & in which order they should be installed. Thanks to Doubledimas, who keeps their post updated with the latest available PS:T EE mods on the BeamDog forum, I am able to present an step by step guide to complete the mods. STEP 0: Prep to Install Mods What it does: This step & all the follow are based on you using the Steam version of Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition. STEP 0 involved creating an "Override" directory that you can use to complete all of the mods below.... I prefer to use the "Setup.exe" files so the guides below bypass this directory whenever they can. How to install: Install Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition via Steam in the default location. The directory where Torment.exe is installed by default via Steam is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project P Open the Project P directory. Right-click within the directory & select New then Folder. Rename the folder override. Keep the folder open & continue to STEP 1. STEP 1: Install Unfinished Business Reloaded Mod What it does: The original Unfinished Business patch for PS:T adds many missions back into the game that the designer's didn't have time to finish. These are missions that should be in the game, but time & money constraints meant they were left out, despite being close to completion. This mod is a continuation of Qwinn's original PS:T Unfinished Business. It has been completely overhauled & made available to PST:EE in addition to classic PS:T. How to install: Download the Unfinished Business Reloaded mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, win-PST-UB-reloaded-v1.4, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where Torment.exe is installed by default via Steam is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project P Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file setup-PST-UB-reloaded from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. When the new window opens, type 0 for English. When the new window opens, type 2 for English. Type N to bypass the “Readme” file. (You can view this if you wish but it isn’t needed if you’re following this guide) Type I to install the "All Recommended PS:T Unfinished Business Components” Type I to install the "Expanded Deionarra's Truth Mod” Type N to NOT install the "Restored Cheat Items” Press ENTER to close the window. Continue to STEP 2. STEP 2: Install Reveal Hidden Gameplay Options Mod What it does: This mods adds a number of useful options directly to the game, which includes the (in)famous debug console, various graphics and feedback settings, and more. How to install: Download the Reveal Hidden Gameplay Options mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, win-A7-HiddenGameplayOptions-v2.5, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where Torment.exe is installed by default via Steam is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project P Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file setup-HiddenGameplayOptions from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. When the new window opens, type 0 for English. Type N to bypass the “Readme” file. (You can view this if you wish but it isn’t needed if you’re following this guide) Type I to install the "Install All Hidden Gamepla Options at Once” Press ENTER to close the window. Continue to STEP 3. STEP 3: Install Banter Accelerator for EE Games Mod What it does: This small "Tweaks" mod allows you to define how often party members will banter with each other. You can either choose from a list of presets or specify the desired values yourself. The mod can either be installed as a regular WeiDU mod (by executing setup-A7-BanterAccelerator.exe), or you can simply copy one of several premade banter timing files directly into the "override" folder of the game. How to install: Download the Banter Accelerator for EE Games mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, win-A7-BanterAccelerator-v1.3, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where Torment.exe is installed by default via Steam is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project P Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file setup-A7-BanterAccelerator from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. When the new window opens, type 0 for English. Type N to bypass the “Readme” file. (You can view this if you wish but it isn’t needed if you’re following this guide) Type 6 to install the "Frequency: 40 Seconds, Probability: 50%" Press ENTER to close the window. Continue to STEP 4. STEP 4: Install Save Nordom Tweak Mod What it does: This tweak allows you to... Save Nordom! The requirements are this: You must be in the area where you found Vhailor. You must have Vhailor in your party. Nordom must *not* be in your party. And you must have the Modron Cube with you. If you meet those requirements, talk to Nordom before you leave, and he will suggest the means by which he may be saved, so that you can get him back when you finally return to Sigil. This is the Save Nordom Tweak from Qwinn's Tweakpack updated for PST:EE, all credits goes to him! How to install: Download the Save Nordom Tweak mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, PST-SaveNordomTweak-master, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where Torment.exe is installed by default via Steam is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project P Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file Setup-PST-SaveNordomTweak from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. When the new window opens, type 0 for English. Type I to install the "Save Nordom! Tweak" Press ENTER to close the window. Continue to STEP 5. STEP 5: Install Keeping NPCs Around Mod What it does: Undivided is a mod that changes Vhailor and Ignus to be followers rather than party members. Thus, this mod allows players to have all seven companions present as they progress through the game. How to install: Download the Keeping NPCs Around mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, Undivided-master, directly into the game directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The directory where Torment.exe is installed by default via Steam is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project P Once you have done this, right-click on the setup file SetUp-Undivided from within the game's directory & Select Run as Administrator. When the new window opens, type 0 for English. Type I to install the "Make Vhailor a Follower" Type I to install the "Make Ignus a Follower" Press ENTER to close the window. Continue to STEP 6. STEP 6: Install TNO Dustman Disguise Outfit Mod What it does: This modification changes the Nameless One original animation to the one of Dustman Disguise. The changes are purely aesthetical and will not affect the game in any fashion. Also, just like the original disguise, any weapon bigger than a dagger will also appear to be a dagger. You do not need to restart the game in order to see it work. How to install: Download the TNO Dustman Disguise Outfit mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, ayv6gugw8qvp, directly into the game's Override directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The Override directory we made in STEP 0 for Torment.exe is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project P\override Continue to STEP 7. How to install: Download the Easter Egg Morte Outfit mod HERE. Extract the entire archive, BMorte, directly into the game's Override directory where Planescape: Torment is installed on your computer. The Override directory we made in STEP 0 for Torment.exe is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Project P\override LAUNCH Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition via Steam & ENJOY!!!.
